Prof Karen Steel FRS, currently at the Wellcome Trust Sanger Institute, has recently been made a fellow of the highly prestigious Royal Society and will be coming to share with us the secrets to her success. With over 100 publications, including Nature, Nature Genetics, Nature Neuroscience and PNAS she is a fantastic person to have come talk to us about her career.
Prof Steel has also worked abroad in Germany, which will be of interest to anyone also thinking about doing so.
She is also an expert witness to House of Lords Select Committee on Aging and scientific adviser to the charities Deafness Research UK and SENSE.
