WISE@QMUL sponsors the People’s Choice Award at the SEECS Research Open Day 2010

On Tuesday 16th March, the QMUL School of Electronic Engineering and Computer Science hosted its Research Open Day.

This annual event is a great opportunity for the School to showcase its research projects and strengthen its collaboration with industry partners.

During the event third year PhD students were asked to present posters. The ones with the best presentation skills were awarded 4 prizes from IEEE, IET and Wiley after evaluation by a panel of experts (from both industry and academia).

At WISE@QMUL we thought that this event was also a good opportunity for research students to exchange ideas with visitors and discover what other PhD students in the School were doing, as a starting points for new collaborations. So we sponsored an additional prizethe People’s Choice Awardto encourage more interaction and networking with the visitors and between the presenters. Anybody attending the event could vote for its favorite posters and 72 votes were cast. Colombine Gardair received this award for her poster “Managing Audience Interaction”.
